Reflexology
"Language of the soul Speaks in many ways"
What is reflexology
Modern reflexology is based on the ancient form of hand and foot massage therapy, evidence suggests that China have been using the application of pressure for over 5000 years, also at the same time in Egypt as depicted in the Tomb of Ankmahor. Native American tribes believed massaging the feet was very important to maintain physical, mental and spiritual wholeness.
How does Reflexology work
Reflexology works on the principle that the whole person is treated, there are over 7000 nerve endings on each foot that are directly linked to parts of the body called reflexes, these reflexes correspond to every gland, organ & body systems.
The feet are mapped with the body’s anatomy and each part of the feet are divided using zones that run along the feet, much like the meridians of energy pathways used in acupuncture and acupressure, each zone on the feet are connected to organs, glands & systems in the body.
Fingers and thumbs are used to apply pressure on a reflex to stimulate a particular zone on the foot, this sends energy or a message through the nervous system in the corresponding area – for example, stimulating the kidney & bladder area can release fear & anxiety and bring strength to help the body heal, applying pressure around the lung area on the feet can release old grief, stimulating the head point will clear sinus, migraine, brain fog and reset this area plus any other organs associated in this zone. Helps to rebalance & relieve joint and muscular tension. Every organ, glands and body systems can be accessed via reflex points.
Reflexology is a powerful treatment & every person has a different experience depending on your current health and wellbeing, it will address any areas that need attention.
Reflexology works depending on the persons needs, it aims to heal and restore areas within the body, mentally, physically, energetically and spiritually.
